Hector Irizarry was born on New Year’s Day, 1971. He studied Art at the School of Visual Arts in Puerto Rico, and received further training in the Art of sculpting glass, which is the main focus of his artistic endeavors today.
The main characteristic of his craft is that it is a complete work of art using only glass. He is known for his exceptional skills in design, his masterful technique, and his use of an autochthonous thematic in his work.
His style involves working first on the outer edges of his material, and then, sandblasting the inside design. The sandblasting technique he uses was developed in Europe in 1870.
